Exosome therapy in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the next step beyond PRP
Exosomes are lab-derived regenerative messengers that signal your cells to repair and renew. At the clinic they are used for both hair restoration and skin rejuvenation, and they often deliver a stronger response than PRP. American, Italian and Korean exosomes are stocked, from Rs 85,000 per session. Every treatment is assessed and performed personally by Dr Taskeen Iqbal at the Bahria Town clinic, serving Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Exosomes are nano-sized extracellular vesicles, the natural messengers cells use to communicate. They carry proteins, growth factors, lipids and microRNAs that trigger regenerative responses in tissue. The exosomes used in aesthetic medicine are cultured from stem cells in a controlled laboratory, then purified for clinical use.
Unlike PRP, which uses your own platelets, exosome preparations carry a more concentrated and diverse range of biological signals. For many patients that means a more potent regenerative response, particularly if you have plateaued on PRP or want the most advanced option from the start.
Exosome therapy at a glance
Exosome therapy at the clinic costs Rs 85,000 to Rs 600,000 per session, depending on which exosome type and strength suits you. It is used for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation, delivered by micro-needling under topical anaesthetic, with mild redness for 12 to 24 hours. Results build over 8 to 12 weeks and are commonly reported to last around 9 to 12 months. Individual results vary.
01 What exosome therapy can address
Exosome therapy is used at the clinic for two main applications, with the protocol tailored to each. Hair is the more common reason patients come in, and exosomes for hair explained covers that side in full.
Hair restoration
Androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, post-pregnancy shedding, support after a hair transplant, and patients who have plateaued on PRP for hair.
Skin rejuvenation
Acne scarring, fine lines, dull or fatigued skin, post-inflammatory pigmentation and overall skin quality. See exosome treatment for face.
- A more concentrated signal than PRP. Because each dose carries a far more concentrated and diverse payload than platelet-rich plasma, many patients find that one well-dosed exosome session can do the work of several PRP sessions. Individual results vary.
- Suitable for all skin types, including the deeper South Asian skin tones common among our patients.
- Minimal downtime. Mild redness for 12 to 24 hours, with most patients back to normal activities the same day.
02 How much does exosome therapy cost in Islamabad and Rawalpindi?
Price depends on which exosome preparation is used and at what strength, not on how long you spend in the chair. Three types are stocked at the clinic, and the table below is the full per-session range for each. The strength suited to your concern is agreed at consultation, so you know the figure before anything is booked. For the full breakdown by brand and billion count, see the exosome price guide for Pakistan.
| Exosome type | Origin | Strengths available | Price per session |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exovex | USA | 1, 5, 12, 25 & 50 billion | Rs 85,000 to 600,000 |
| Biosciences | Italy | 5, 10, 25 & 100 billion | Rs 175,000 to 500,000 |
| ASCE+ | South Korea | 10, 25 & 50 billion | Rs 100,000 to 300,000 |
Prices are per session and current as of August 2026. The number of sessions advised depends on your concern and is discussed at consultation.
American exosomes price in Pakistan (Exovex)
Exovex, from the USA, is the most widely used exosome preparation at the clinic. It is stocked in 1, 5, 12, 25 and 50 billion strengths and costs Rs 85,000 to Rs 600,000 per session, the broadest range of the three lines. That spread makes it the most adaptable to different budgets and concerns, from a first skin session to an intensive hair protocol.
Korean exosomes price in Pakistan (ASCE+)
ASCE+, from South Korea, is stocked in 10, 25 and 50 billion strengths at Rs 100,000 to Rs 300,000 per session. It is the lower-cost entry point at good potency, often suited to first-time patients or to maintenance sessions after an initial course.
Italian exosomes price in Pakistan (Biosciences)
Biosciences, from Italy, is stocked in 5, 10, 25 and 100 billion strengths at Rs 175,000 to Rs 500,000 per session. It reaches the highest single concentration available at the clinic, 100 billion, and is chosen where a stronger biological signal is warranted.
Price by billion count: 5, 10, 25 or 50 billion exosomes
Within each line, price rises with the billion count, so a 10 billion preparation sits toward the lower end of its brand's range and a 50 billion preparation toward the top. The same count is often available from more than one brand: 5 billion comes in the Exovex and Biosciences lines, 10 billion in Biosciences and ASCE+, 25 billion in all three, and 50 billion in Exovex and ASCE+. Which count is worth paying for depends on your concern rather than the biggest number, and the exact figure for your brand and strength is confirmed on WhatsApp before you book.
Why the product is unpacked in front of you
Every preparation is medical-grade and fully unpacked in front of you, so you see exactly which brand and strength is being used before it is drawn up. Counterfeit and under-dosed exosome product is a real problem in the local market, and an unopened vial checked in your presence is the simplest protection against it. Exosome therapy is also widely used after a hair transplant to support graft survival and healthy regrowth.
03 Is exosome therapy right for you?
Exosome therapy suits patients who want the most advanced regenerative option, those who have not achieved the results they wanted from PRP, or those whose concerns warrant a stronger biological response. It works for both skin and hair, and for all skin types when properly administered.
It is not recommended if you have an active skin infection in the treatment area, certain blood disorders, are undergoing active cancer treatment, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have certain immunological conditions. Your full medical history is reviewed during consultation, and you will get an honest assessment. For some patients, PRP delivers the right result at a lower investment, and Dr Taskeen Iqbal will tell you so.
04 How is exosome therapy different from PRP?
This is the question patients ask most often, and the honest answer is that neither option is better in every case. PRP uses a concentrate spun from your own blood. Exosomes are cultured and purified in a laboratory to a known, consistent dose. The practical differences are set out below.
| PRP | Exosome therapy | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Your own blood, drawn on the day | Lab-cultured and purified from stem cells |
| Dose consistency | Varies with your platelet count, age and health on the day | Standardised, a known billion count every time |
| Signal strength | Growth factors from platelets only | Proteins, growth factors and microRNAs, a broader payload |
| Blood draw needed | Yes | No |
| Typical session count | Usually a course of several sessions | Fewer sessions for a comparable response |
| Cost per session | Lower | Rs 85,000 to 600,000 |
| Best suited to | Early hair thinning, budget-conscious plans, good general health | Plateaued on PRP, low platelet quality, or wanting the strongest option |
If your platelet quality is good and your hair loss is early, PRP is frequently the sensible starting point and costs considerably less. Exosomes earn their price when PRP has already been tried without the response you wanted, when platelet quality is poor, or when the concern warrants a stronger signal from the start. You will be told which of those applies to you, and the full side-by-side is set out in prp exosomes.
05 How long do exosome results last?
Exosome therapy does not produce an overnight change, and any clinic promising one is overselling it. The exosomes signal your own cells to regenerate, and that biological process takes time to show.
- Weeks 1 to 4. Little visible change. The regenerative signalling is under way beneath the surface. Some patients notice reduced shedding on the scalp during this period.
- Weeks 4 to 8. Early visible change, typically improved skin texture and quality, or the first fine regrowth at the hairline and parting.
- Weeks 8 to 12. The fullest effect of the session, as collagen remodelling and follicle activity peak.
- Months 9 to 12. Benefits are commonly reported to hold around this long before a maintenance session is considered.
How long the effect holds varies with the strength used, the concern being treated, your age, your general health and whether the underlying cause is still active. Androgenetic alopecia, for example, is a progressive condition, so exosome therapy manages it rather than ending it, and maintenance is part of a realistic plan. Individual results vary.
06 How exosome therapy is performed
Every patient arrives fully informed about what to expect. Here is the procedure from start to finish.
- Consultation. A thorough assessment of your skin or scalp and your goals, confirming exosome therapy is the right approach before anything begins.
- Preparation. Topical anaesthetic is applied for comfort while the exosome preparation is drawn up under sterile conditions.
- Application. Exosomes are delivered into the skin or scalp through micro-needling, which creates controlled micro-channels for them to reach the right depth. Fine direct injections may be used for specific areas.
- Healing and renewal. The exosomes signal your cells to regenerate, supporting collagen and tissue repair over the following weeks. The response builds gradually for the most lasting effect.
07 Aftercare for the best results
How you care for your skin or scalp in the first 48 hours affects both comfort and results. You receive written instructions before you leave, and the key points are:
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF daily and avoid direct sun for the first week, as new tissue is more sensitive to UV
- Stay well hydrated and avoid alcohol for 48 hours
- Avoid active skincare such as retinol, AHAs and BHAs for the first week
- Attend follow-up sessions as advised, since results build over time
08 Why patients choose Dr Taskeen Iqbal
Dr Taskeen Iqbal is a Skin and Aesthetic Physician who performs every treatment at the clinic herself, with postgraduate training in aesthetic medicine. Her registrations and qualifications are set out in full here.
Exosome therapy is offered only when it is genuinely the right approach. The newest option is not recommended simply because it is new. Where PRP would deliver the right result at a fraction of the cost, you will be told so honestly. Every exosome session is assessed and performed by the doctor rather than handed to a technician, which matters more with a product this expensive.
The clinic is in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, roughly 30 minutes from central Islamabad and easily reached from Bahria Town, DHA, Gulberg, Bahria Enclave and the F and G sectors. Patients travel from across the capital region, and consultations are arranged over WhatsApp so you can confirm suitability and cost before making the trip.
Exosome therapy, frequently asked
At the clinic, exosome therapy ranges from Rs 85,000 to Rs 600,000 per session depending on the exosome type and strength. American Exovex runs Rs 85,000 to 600,000 across 1 to 50 billion, Italian Biosciences Rs 175,000 to 500,000 across 5 to 100 billion, and Korean ASCE+ Rs 100,000 to 300,000 across 10 to 50 billion. The strength suited to you is agreed at consultation.
Most patients see results build over 8 to 12 weeks as the regenerative response develops, with benefits commonly reported for around 9 to 12 months before a maintenance session is considered. Duration varies with the strength used, the concern treated, age and general health. Individual results vary.
Exosome therapy may help improve hair density and reduce shedding in androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium by signalling follicles that are dormant rather than lost. It cannot regrow hair from follicles that are no longer viable. A scalp assessment establishes what is realistic before treatment begins. Individual results vary.
No single type is best for everyone. American Exovex is the most widely used at the clinic and comes in the broadest strength range. Italian Biosciences reaches the highest concentration at 100 billion. Korean ASCE+ is a lower-cost entry point at good potency. The choice depends on your concern, scalp or skin condition and budget.
At the clinic, a 10 billion count is available in the Italian Biosciences line, priced Rs 175,000 to 500,000 across 5 to 100 billion, and the Korean ASCE+ line, priced Rs 100,000 to 300,000 across 10 to 50 billion. Within each line price rises with the billion count, so a 10 billion preparation sits toward the lower end of its brand's range. The exact figure is confirmed on WhatsApp before you book.
Yes. The clinic stocks Exovex from the USA in 1, 5, 12, 25 and 50 billion strengths at Rs 85,000 to Rs 600,000 per session, alongside the Italian Biosciences and Korean ASCE+ lines. Every vial is unpacked in front of you before treatment, so you see the brand and strength being used.
Exosomes are lab-derived nano-vesicles that signal your cells to regenerate, carrying proteins, growth factors and microRNAs. In aesthetic medicine they are used for skin rejuvenation and hair restoration, delivered into the skin or scalp by micro-needling.
PRP uses your own platelets. Exosome preparations are lab-derived and carry a more concentrated, diverse range of biological signals, which often produces a stronger response, particularly for patients who have plateaued on PRP.
For skin, it can help acne scarring, fine lines, dull or fatigued skin and pigmentation. For hair, it can help androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium and post-pregnancy shedding. Individual results vary.
Most patients have mild redness and warmth for 12 to 24 hours and return to normal activities the same day.
The common effects are mild redness and warmth in the treated area for 12 to 24 hours, and the treatment itself is performed under topical anaesthetic. It is not advised with an active skin infection, certain blood disorders, active cancer treatment, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding, which is why your medical history is reviewed at consultation. If anything beyond mild redness develops, contact the clinic.
Yes, when properly administered, and it suits all skin types including deeper South Asian tones. It is not advised with an active skin infection, certain blood disorders, active cancer treatment, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your medical history is reviewed first.
Not always. For some patients PRP delivers the right result at a lower investment. Dr Taskeen Iqbal gives an honest assessment of which approach suits you rather than defaulting to the newest option.
