Black Mole Removal in Islamabad: Same-Day Laser From PKR 5,000
Mole removal is one of the most common cosmetic procedures I perform at my clinic in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Most patients are surprised by how quick, painless, and affordable proper medical mole removal actually is. They have often delayed for years, assuming it would be expensive, painful, or require recovery time. The reality is much simpler.
This guide gives you complete information about mole removal in Islamabad, what it costs, what to expect, and why same day treatment is possible at a medical clinic.
I am Dr. Taskeen Iqbal, PMDC registered and Irish Medical Council registered.
Why Same Day Mole Removal Is Possible
For most cosmetic moles that have been examined and confirmed benign, removal can be performed the same day as your consultation. The procedure itself takes 15 to 30 minutes per mole. Local anaesthesia means no pain during the procedure. You walk out of the clinic with the mole gone.
Same day treatment is appropriate when:
- The mole is clearly benign on examination
- It is small to medium in size
- It has stable history with no recent changes
- You are healthy with no contraindications
- The location is suitable for the chosen method
Same day treatment is not appropriate when:
- The mole shows any concerning features
- It needs histopathology testing first
- It is very large or in a complex location
- You are on blood thinning medications
- You have an active infection

Mole Removal Cost in Islamabad
Pricing depends on the size, depth, location, and removal method. Here is the realistic price range at medical clinics.
| Mole Type | Removal Method | Price (PKR) |
|---|---|---|
| Small flat mole (under 3mm) | Laser ablation | 5,000 to 7,000 |
| Small raised mole | Surgical excision | 6,000 to 10,000 |
| Medium mole (3-6mm) | Laser or surgical | 8,000 to 15,000 |
| Large mole (over 6mm) | Surgical excision | 12,000 to 25,000 |
| Multiple small moles (per session) | Cryotherapy or laser | 10,000 to 25,000 |
| Histopathology testing | Lab fees | 3,000 to 6,000 |
| Suspicious mole removal with testing | Surgical excision plus histo | 15,000 to 30,000 |

Why Mole Removal Costs Vary
Several factors affect the final price.
Size Matters
Larger moles take longer to remove, may require more careful suturing, and need more aftercare. Cost scales with size.
Location Affects Complexity
Moles on the face, especially near the eyes, lips, or nose, require extra care to ensure good cosmetic outcome. Moles on the back or trunk are simpler. Moles on hands and feet need particular attention to healing.
Method Used
Laser ablation is generally less expensive than surgical excision. Cryotherapy is the cheapest option for small superficial moles. Surgical excision costs more but is the only method that allows tissue testing.
Testing Requirements
Moles being sent for histopathology examination cost more because of laboratory fees and the more careful technique required.
Multiple Moles
Removing multiple moles in one session usually has package pricing that is more economical than booking individual sessions.

What Happens at Your Appointment
Initial Consultation
Your appointment starts with examination of the mole or moles you want removed. I check for any concerning features, take photographs for records, discuss your goals, and explain the appropriate removal method for each mole.
Decision and Consent
Based on the examination, we decide together whether same day removal is suitable or whether further evaluation is needed first. You receive complete information about the procedure, expected outcome, aftercare, and pricing before consenting.
The Procedure
The area around the mole is cleaned with antiseptic. Local anaesthesia is applied or injected, taking effect within 1 to 2 minutes. The mole is removed using the chosen method. The procedure itself takes 5 to 20 minutes per mole. You feel pressure but no pain.
Aftercare and Discharge
The treated area is dressed appropriately. You receive aftercare instructions, prescribed antibiotic ointment if needed, and a follow up appointment. You leave the clinic the same way you arrived, just with the mole gone.

The Three Removal Methods Explained
Laser Ablation
Best for: Small to medium flat or slightly raised moles that are clearly benign.
Procedure: CO2 laser vapourises the mole tissue layer by layer.
Healing: 7 to 14 days for the surface.
Scarring: Minimal.
Limitation: Cannot send tissue for testing afterwards.
Surgical Excision
Best for: Larger moles, raised moles, suspicious moles needing testing.
Procedure: Mole cut out completely with stitches to close the wound.
Healing: Stitches removed 7 to 14 days, full healing 4 to 6 weeks.
Scarring: Fine line scar that fades over months.
Advantage: Tissue can be sent for histopathology examination.
Cryotherapy
Best for: Very small superficial benign moles, skin tags.
Procedure: Liquid nitrogen freezes the mole tissue which then falls off.
Healing: 7 to 14 days for the mole to fall off and surface to heal.
Scarring: Usually minimal but can leave lighter or darker spots.

Aftercare for Best Results
- Keep the area clean and dry for 3 to 5 days after laser or cryotherapy
- Apply prescribed antibiotic ointment as instructed
- Do not pick at scabs or stitches
- Avoid swimming pools and sea water for 2 weeks
- Apply SPF 50 sunscreen to healed areas
- Avoid harsh skincare products on the area
- Watch for any signs of infection (redness, warmth, pus, fever)
- Attend follow up as scheduled

Why Choose a Medical Clinic for Mole Removal
Mole removal is genuinely a medical procedure even when performed for purely cosmetic reasons. The reasons to choose a medical clinic are simple.
A doctor can recognise concerning features that indicate a mole should be tested rather than just removed. Skin cancer is treatable when caught early but can be missed by non medical providers.
Sterile equipment and proper aseptic technique prevent infection. Mole removal at parlours, beauty salons, or unqualified providers carries real infection risk.
Local anaesthesia administered correctly makes the procedure painless. Without proper anaesthesia, the procedure becomes unnecessarily uncomfortable.
Removed tissue can be sent for examination when needed. This safety net is not available at non medical settings.
Complications, if they occur, can be managed appropriately by qualified personnel.
What Happens If a Mole Has Concerning Features
If during your consultation I identify any concerning features in your mole, the protocol changes. We may delay cosmetic removal and instead perform surgical excision with the tissue sent for histopathology examination.
This is the safer approach because it tells us definitively whether the mole was benign or whether anything concerning was developing. The vast majority of moles tested come back completely benign, but the few that do not are caught at the earliest possible stage.
This medical safety net is one of the most important reasons to have moles removed at a qualified medical clinic rather than anywhere else.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my mole removal hurt?
The procedure itself is painless thanks to local anaesthesia. Some mild discomfort during healing is normal but easily managed.
Will I have a visible scar?
Minimal scarring is typical. Most facial mole removals heal with minimal visible mark, especially for smaller moles.
Can a mole grow back after removal?
Properly removed moles do not grow back. Incomplete removal at non medical settings can lead to regrowth.
How quickly can I have a mole removed?
Same day removal is often possible at the consultation appointment. Larger or more complex moles may need to be scheduled separately.
Are all moles safe to remove?
Most moles are safe to remove. Suspicious moles need surgical excision with testing rather than laser or cryotherapy. The examination during consultation determines the appropriate approach.
Can children have moles removed?
Yes, with appropriate techniques and parental guidance. Most cosmetic mole removal in children waits until they can cooperate with the procedure.
Where can I get same day mole removal in Islamabad?
